Learn how to update your Air Lab's firmware to access the latest features or recover your device if it becomes unresponsive.
Firmware Update
By installing updated firmware on your device, you gain access to new features on the Air Lab and in Studio.
The Air Lab is updated via USB using Studio. Follow these steps to update your device:
- Go to Studio on a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
- In the Studio menu, navigate to the Update page.
- Click Update.
- Follow the instructions in the Studio.
Your Air Lab will restart automatically once the update is complete.
Troubleshooting
If the update fails, try the following steps:
- Ensure that you're using a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
- Try using a different USB cable or USB port on your computer.
- Restart your Browser and try the update process again.
Device Recovery
No firmware is bug-free, and it may happen that the Air Lab enters a crash loop (unresponsive or flashing screen). If that happens, follow these steps to recover your device. Please note that this procedure will erase all recorded measurements and device settings. Thus, always try to update the device as described above first.
- Go to Studio on a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
- In the Studio menu, navigate to the Update page.
- Click Recover.
- Follow the instructions in the Studio.
Troubleshooting
If the recovery fails, try the following steps:
- While pressing A + B, keep them pressed down until the screen is frozen on one frame. As soon as it is frozen, do not press another button, or else you will wake up the device again.
- When pressing A after connecting your Air Lab with a USB cable to your computer, a pop-up window may ask you to allow connecting to the device. Be careful to select "Yes" as this pop-up window will only show once. If you accidentally selected "No", unplug the USB cable, restart the computer, and try again.
Your Air Lab will restart automatically once the recovery is complete.
